You may find that you will need to address your child’s digital legacy and presence on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.

You may wish to keep the accounts active, finding comfort in the comments and posts, or delete the accounts to avoid any hacking issues. Some platforms also offer the option to “memorialize” the account. You will need to work directly with each platform to gain access to the accounts if you have not been designated as a legacy contact or you do not know your child’s passwords.
